Care

In order to enjoy your knitted cashmere item for as long as possible, please follow the instructions below:

Wash the item by hand or using the delicate woollen programme in a washing machine, at a maximum of 30 degrees, without rubbing, and using a special cashmere detergent such as Tene-Moll or Woolite. Always rinse in cold water, without wringing or spinning the item. Remove the excess water by gently pressing the item or spinning it at a low number of revolutions per minute. Lay out flat on terry towels, pull into shape if necessary, and leave to dry. Never dry close to heat sources or in direct sunlight. Do not hang to dry.

Cashmere items can also be dry-cleaned. However, we would like to point out that although chemical dry-cleaning is no problem and gives good results, it also affects and could disturb the natural balance of the precious natural fibres.

The “pilling” phenomenon

If you look at the outside of a pure cashmere item, you can see an almost invisible down. This down consists of a slight surplus of precious fibres and, in small amounts – as is the case of first class items - this makes one of the defining features of cashmere. Naturally, after a short time wearing the cashmere item, the repeated movements and contact causes the finest fibres to attach themselves and thus form unsightly knots. This phenomenon is called “pilling” and is seen as normal in small amounts.

However, these knots can easily be removed with a special fuzz-off comb or, even better, by hand after a wash. Removing some of the fibres does not reduce the quality. After two or three washes, the outer fibres will spread themselves and the “pilling” will reduce until it will no longer occur. Then, the quality of the cashmere knitwear will remain unchanged and will even become more durable with every wash.
